Peter was co-opted onto the Parish Council in April 2025. He is a recently retired Chartered Accountant, having previously worked as a Finance Director in several multi-national businesses, as well as fulfilling IT and Procurement roles.

Peter moved to Balsall Common in 1999, and since then has been actively involved in voluntary coaching and fundraising roles with the Cricket and Football Clubs and is currently a Director of the Sports Association. He is also active with Balsall Common Lions and chairs a local cricket league, when he is not trying to carry on playing Seniors Cricket. The availability and quality of sports and recreation facilities is a key interest for Peter, and a major driver for getting involved with the Parish Council as Balsall Common grows.

Sara has been a Balsall Parish Councillor since October 2021 when she was co-opted on to the council. She worked as a nurse in the NHS and voluntary sector for 40 years retiring in the summer of 2021. As a long-time resident of Balsall Common she joined the Parish Council as she has a real interest in the community she lives in and would like to learn and contribute towards providing positive improvements to the environment we all live in. Sara is part of the Joint Parish Council Community Health and Well-being working group, the Tree Preservation Orders group and on the Cemetery Committee.

A member of two local farming families, one from Balsall Parish and one from Berkswell Parish, Marion was born and brought up in Fen End. Educated locally, she trained as a nurse and completed forty years’ service in the NHS.

Keen to give something back to the community in which she grew up, her interests include life in the rural parish, the natural

environment and conservation, farming and sustainable UK food production.

Liz was elected to Balsall Parish Council in May 2019, when she was Vice Chairman and took over as Chairman in 2021.  She is a member of the Staffing Committee, Cemetery Committee, Highways Working Group and Tree Preservation Order Working Group.  She joined the council to work for the benefit of the community she lives in.

Liz has lived in Balsall Common for over 30 years.  A geography graduate and a career civil servant with knowledge and experience working in Structure Plans, Estates Management, Welfare, Highways, Skills, and Programme and Project appraisal and training. After retiring she was a volunteer adviser at Citizens Advice  Solihull Borough.  Her other interests are walking her two terriers, travel and gardening.
